comment 124 emails sent at once while one should be sent every five minutes by cron if a certain web service stops running
change echo "there has been an error" to echo "there has been an error at `date +'%d-%m-%y %H:%M'`" (or whatever format you like) to avoid such problems in future.

comment YUM Update Error
You have removed incorrect repo but haven't removed incorrect rpms installed by that repo. Its still showing that many el6 packages. python-jsonpointer-1.0-3.el6.noarch, python-boto-2.34.0-4.el6.noarch (epel) etc. Remove all of those and issue will be fixed.
