I'm building a simple app. But it turned out to be not so simple as I thought.

iPhone can't access Apache on home LAN @JourneymanGeek But safari's iphone at the office lan, can connect to my windows 7 laptop using the non-standard 8888 port: just -of course, or as expected- with a different ip address supplied by the office DHCP. I have enabled incoming ICMP/ping requests on the windows 7 laptop's firewall. |

iPhone can't access Apache on home LAN @AlexanderJanssen at home, the iphone has a reserved DHCP address on the router. Plus, I can switch to "flight-mode", dropping the cell carrier connection. Then hit just the wi-fi on, and I'm back with the reserved ip address from the home router. So I'm on the home network. I am aware that the office router gives different addresses to the devices: I don't think this is the problem. |

iPhone can't access Apache on home LAN route or rule? I made a custom inbound rule to allow incoming requests for apache on port 8888 on windows firewall. Setting a route? |

iPhone can't access Apache on home LAN During the day at my office network, I can access the server on my windows 7 laptop using the office lan and the same iphone. But then I get home and the iphone can't connect to apache on the laptop on the home lan. This could seem like a problem in my home router, but then how come the home linux computer can access the apache laptop and the iphone not? |
