comment Ctrl-C is ignored by pppd when put in a shell script
bash -i didn't help. Can someone reproduce and confirm this problem on their machine? On my machine this problem only applies to pppd. As far as I checked, no other program has this issue.

thanks. ngrep did the job for me using it's grep filter, not pcap filter. I'm not a libpcap expert but I still wonder if it has a filter which allows this sort of thing by something like putting arithmetic conditions on TCP sequence numbers. I will accept this answer in few days, if no one suggests a solution using a pcap filter instead of grep.
