Ok I can change the write back cache to raid 1 that is fine, but none of this actually answers the question which is specific to the flashcache issue.

Why would md2 be disabled when it is the primary storage volume i.e. mapped to /dev/Xenvol ? The mdadm layout is as it needs to be, raid 10 on the primary storage is not an option due to lack of space however the mdadm layout is really inconsequential to this.

comment TCP RST Reset Every 5 Minutes on Windows 2003 sp2
The capture needs to be done from both sides so the origin of the RST can be found, you could script some keep alive events but really without a cap from both sides I am just guessing so I have made this a comment not an answer, ( EM Server Property box > connexions tab -->Request timeout in ms) Also not directly related but have a look here under the sql server section: vyaskn.tripod.com/watch_your_timeouts.htm

comment Microsoft , Hotmail , Live , MSN, Outlook , unable to send emails and no support received from microsoft in 3 months we are trying asking for that
The problem as I said may not be your IP they block a whole range at a time it could be anyone in your IP range causing the problem which s not something you can fix. you think hotmail is bad wait until you get a gmail block...

I would suggest based on the "unexcpected data" and the message from the ASA tearing down the connection it is the destination that is triggering the RST.

comment How to pass web request from WAN server to LAN server for apache2 in ubuntu
Sorry just noticed that you did tell use what the software and OS is for both (My Mistake) so haproxy is ideal for the job, it works based on TCP headers, so if it reads that the request if for blah.com and you have a rule for blah.com in your haproxy config it will forward it to your LAN server.

comment Increase/refresh the size of the FreeBSD's main partition
Ah.. So sorry I remember now that gparted does not support BSD file systems, I did a quick google for an equivalent without much joy although this guide on doing via cli seems fairly straight forward: unibia.com/unibianet/freebsd/…

You dont need to, you simply change the bot order and boot from the gparted live CD, the live CD will pick up the VDI and allow you to resize it.

Based on your update I can tell you that you will probably never be able to deliver email to hotmail from your IP, the reputation must be VERY low for your IP range for them to outight reject rather than let the MS SmartFilter do its job. I would suggest that they do not have any specific issues with your site/domain so either moving your hosting or using a hotmail account may help.

There was enough information in that link to give me the answers and order of things I needed all sorted now and booting+running on raid 10 Thanks.

Ah ok thanks, usually I would not be doing it this way at all, the server was taken on with 8 drives with the OS on 1 disk only and the others untouched, it might be worth just setting it up again from scratch with the KVMoIP I suppose. I thought it may have been an option to simply dd sda1 and sda2 over to sd[bcdefgh]1 and sd[bcdefgh]2 then create the arrays even with sda1 and sda 2 mounted, I suppose I could still try that with sda1,2 missing then add them to the arrays in resuce mode unmounted but if that is going to wipe everything I might as well just reinstall.

Perhaps the initial setup on single disk is the cause, I will update the original post with more info

comment Postfix as a relay for specific networks only
Actually since setting the config again like that all I get are timeouts now, I can telnet to port 25 but when sending mail nothing happens: Oct 15 11:53:55 relay postfix/master[889]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling

which would explain why it was working some of the time.

comment Postfix as a relay for specific networks only
update: I may have actually answered my own question: It seems it is not correct to stack the mynetworks, instead they should be entered as: mynetworks - 1.1.1.1/24 2.2.2.2/24 on a single line. Testing this now, all looks good so far, happy to hear any other comments though regarding cleaning up the config etc.
