@JohnGardeniers: I saw they practice a lot of rewrites when they remove link. Plus they realize - they did bad job by causing dead links. Much better lately. =)

In your (dirtier option) - I don't need to "first manually verify". If I have date and time of the last port installation (which was like day ago), I can surely remove all packages after this date and time? Isn't it true?

In regards to Option 1, - how would I really know if I don't need some of those packages? They may depend on others installed earlier.
