I will mark this answer as accepted because that is the only reasonable solution to this problem.

That's the catch - i wanted to use the non password, default authentication which as I learned by observing traffic it does kerberos authentication which none of popular VNC clients support.

Installing software on PCs would be fine. Due to complex political issues, entire organization moved to Skype without considering impact. Now IT security are scratching their heads on what to do with it. Spector360 looks promising - no need to record all that detail, just some bits.

@Bart, Certain financial institutions need to preserve call records and communication to protect themselves in litigation. Rest assured, nobody is doing peeping Tom.

comment Networked filesystem with user level security for linux
This is interesting, so far I understood that there is only server to server authentication in NFSv4 and then the system that mounts the exported volume is responsible for sorting out the permissions (squash_root_fs being the exception). Can you provide some links to docs?

For example, I have two projects /joeisworking and /mattisworking. Even if I do squash root, matt from his workstation can access joe's.

comment VLAN ACLs and when to go Layer 3
SMB or SOHO or enterprise doesn't matter - SMB sec requirements may be more than an enterprise's. All L3 switches do routing. That's why they are L3. Note that their capacity can be questionable at times. I prefer my switches to stay at L2 and get a RouterBoard / Linux as GW & Fwall.
