comment Your worst “High Maintenance User” experience
Stories from working in Tech Support never leave you. Had one lady call a coworker in frantic rant barely breathing and partly crying. When he finally calmed her down, the problem was that a video was stuck in the VHS player and had to be back in the shop in 15 minutes.

comment Which filesystem do you use and recommend for file servers?
ZFS is pretty much the best thing about OpenSolaris. If only Linux had ZFS. Transparent compression and block level check summing are two really amazing features.

comment sendmail limiting x amount of emails per domain per certain amount of time rule
Its the same with hotmail, live, gmail etc. Once you limit the number per envelope, you can actually send quite a few more through per hour than simply leaving a mass email. Most mailing software actually has functions to take care of this already.

comment Virtualization as a way for scaling
If the site has any state that isn't stored in a shared db, look at sticky connections on the load balancer.

comment Could my enterprise proxy know the content of an https request?
"Don't access sensitive web sites from comptuers you don't administer / own." If the computer is a domain computer, the certs can be pushed out silently via gpo without you knowing. Only tunnelling traffic to an external proxy will make you safe.

comment debian 3.1 can be upgraded to lenny?
Depending on the number of applications installed, going Sarge -> Etch -> Lenny may be the best option. Some applications had quite a few changes between Sarge and Etch, and again through Etch / Lenny.
