comment Why would Windows Server 2012 not respond on ports above 6000?
Is there a firewall or AV (Symantec crap blocks ports) running on the server or hyper-visor?

comment Windows Web Server 2008 Crashing Daily
Are you seeing this caused by blue screens of death? Can you try running BlueScreenView by Nirsoft to see if a specific driver is causing the issue?

comment DLL and ActiveX controls not availabe for domain users - Server 2008 32 bit
Sounds simple, but does the software need to be run as a local administrator? Is the local user a local administrator?

comment Updating / working with Server 2008 - non-r2
Server 2008 (non-R2) is based on Vista's code base, which can be the source of that grief. I would look into the install logs as to why .NET 3.5 is crashing, and also check the logs for why Windows is unable to update.

This is fantastic. I have been looking and trying to find what those hex values were to no avail on technet.

comment Windows Server unable to synchronize NTP time reliably
Oh, I assumed you were a part of a domain. I think you should be able to set all of the servers up using the coammnds linked to poll from pool.ntp.org. Maybe time.windows is not a great time source. I would again try with NTP pool as it has around 3000 global servers and about 900 in North America!
