Work with different levels of expertise with MSSQL, .NET (C#, VB.Net), Web Services, XCode, Android, VMWare, Active Directory, and other technologies.

In particular like the WebServices/mobile world. The current generation of cloud connected applications is very interested to me, and slowly are shifting my work into the area.

No - that was just an expectation, and also misunderstanding of the product.

I think that you are correct. I hoped it would at least try to ping the addresses (which wouldn't be perfect, but would be an start).

Thanks. I guess my issue is that I do not know how IPAM determines that a given IP address is used or not.

comment HP LeftHand StoreVirtual VSA host affinity
@joeqwerty: I do not have DRS as of this moment, however, I believe that is a higher level. Isn't DRS to dynamically adjust the allocation of VMs to datastores? (I only have a single datastore, stripped in 3 nodes in VSA). I could create many datastores, but it is the same issue. I want to "prioritize" the path used by each host.

@joeqwerty: I am researching their knowledge base. I am sorry, but are you suggesting that one shouldn't ask here if one hasn't asked the vendor? I think the site is for building some sort of knowledge base.

MikeAWood: thanks for the insight. I disagree with the idea that there cannot be a level of documentation appropriate to trust the answer. They could have fully documented procedure, and that would be enough for my case. Please note that our customer backup the DCs using normal network backups, so this is more a curiosity question than a question that they are willing to invest 10 hours of research to find out the response.

No - I have tried to locate published articles/information. I guess that maybe they could point me to some (or somebody could me to it).
