I've intall mysql-server that I think it installs mysql-server-core-5.5 from Ubuntu's 12.10 repository. Somthing went wrong in the installation and it didn't finish properly. The installation returned an error

I GOT IT. I tried mysql_install_db --basedir /etc/mysql and I get Could not find errmsg.sys Then I decide to copy from other linux machine this file (and some others that where missed): scp /usr/share/mysql/english/* root@machine:/usr/share/mysql/english scp /usr/share/mysql/*.sql root@machine:/usr/share/mysql/ And when I run once more: ´mysql_install_db --basedir /etc/mysql´ I got: Filling help tables... OK Then I run: mysql_safe And it worked (everything as root, ofc)

with dpkg-reconfigure mysql-server I get mysql-server broken package. Remember that my installation failed (An error occurred while setting the password for the MySQL administrative)

My names inside the LAN are working properly, now. I already change the default dns in my gateway to the dns inside my lan.
