Not much to say. Been playing with computers for >80% of my life. Unix >75%. I also dabble in music, ham radio and brewing.

This appears to be a dup of serverfault.com/questions/105957/… . Your question doesn't really have enough info to answer the question. Which OS and/or distro are you running. RPM and .deb based distributions usually have a data base that contains information about all the files, ownership and permissions. Solaris exposes this information in text files. Source based distros or systems with many manually installed packages may be a bit more challenging.

"dump-acct /var/account/pacct" will dump the raw data in a (semi) human readable format. "man 5 acct" should help you figure out what the fields are. Another possibility is to run top in batch mode with delay set to something on the order of 15-60 seconds and the output redirected to a file.

comment How to use services secured by our gateway IP from clients outside our network?
You mentioned that VPNs were a nogo and it sounded like resources may be the reason. IN that case remember that a proxy connecting off site users to off site content will use about as much bandwidth as a VPN doing the same thing.

comment How lxc-console implements implementation of the process into container?
What is the problem you are attempting to solve? Where have you looked for the answers to this question? The source and man page for this command is readily available. (hint search github for LXC)

comment What tool/application (free or not) should I use to generate and write lots (TBs) of data, fast
What is your performance goal? Hadoop uses multiple hosts for both storage and job processing. Is almost reads like you are saying that a single instance of dd from your test host is not fast enough. If that is the problem you may need to connect additional hosts to your network, and test with multiple I/O streams.

comment Does nginx support DER format certificates?
You can also use openssl command line to determine if the cert file is in DER or PEM format. 'CERT_TYPE='Unknown' ; openssl x509 -in certificate.der -inform der -text -noout && CERT_TYPE='DER'
