comment Grahping VMware VM's network traffic
I will take a look again at SNMP to the host, I did add a host into Observium and it wasn't showing up any VM NICs, It did show a vSwitch but didn't show it doing any traffic or show any VM NICs. If It does work then I would need to work out away of tracking the VM as DRS moves them between the hosts.

comment ssh tunneling vs tor
Is 'B' a tor relay node or a tor exit node?

comment ssh tunneling vs tor
The exit node isn't any different to the SSH server doing the tunnelling, so it's no more or less secure. Only real difference is that the exit node might be closer to the site you are going to so would have less hops without encryption but then you have the insecurity of not knowing what the person running exit node is doing and they could be sniffing the traffic.

comment How common are Intel igb NIC drivers/cards, compared to Intel e1000, etc.?
What's the specific model of the card you are having problems with? It could be that you are using the desktop model instead of the server model.

comment Bind server working with www but not with non-www
You have a wildcard dns entry pointing to the same IP, So you don't really need the www. record as it would be covered by the *. record. When you say it doesn't work, can you give any more detail? for example does it give a 404 page, wrong page, no page at all?

comment Get clean url's working with kayako
Without knowing what error you are getting it's hard to know. Looking at Kayako's wiki it looks like they had a problem with it, the page just says "We are currently working on a solution for the Apache web-server for this. We will update this page once we have one." Not sure if that would apply to NGINX - wiki.kayako.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=4030734

comment qemu don't start quest with disk image on tmpfs
You could enable Physical Address Extension (PAE) in the guest OS, which will allow the guest to address more than 4GB of ram

comment Network ping responses with very large times and other weirdness
Is it just that one host or is it others? What happens if you ping this host from another host at the same time as the long response times? As quick thing to rule out the switch port, have you changed the port on the switch this host is plugged in to?

comment How to use Linux to capture packets on eth0 and send everything to eth1?
eth0 and eth1 don't need an ip address, if you need an IP so you can manage it remotely then you can add an IP to the bridge interface

Ah yes, I forgot some switches call IEEE802.3ad Link Aggregation "trunking".
