comment Amazon S3 - Storage Class and Server Side Encryption
S3 isn't a traditional file system so setting a setting on the bucket doesn't promise things to happen how you might expect. The best way to force things like this (or was last time I was using it) is with a bucket policy. Could you share which 3P tool you were using that was failing to work correctly? It would help for anyone that has a similar problem that finds this question. :)

comment ec2 instance doesn't start
You can snapshot your volume, mount it to another instance, and check what's going on. It's likely the volume is toast.

comment Apache routing vhosts to /var/www
Can you see the client's requests in the server logs? It's likely the mobile client is not sending the correct host in the HTTP requests. You should be able to see this in the Apache logs if you have that log option enabled. If not and you can't enable it you should be able to see it in a packet capture.

Can you see the HTTP GETs coming in if you run TCPDump on the linux hosts? Installing another guest shouldn't bother the guest systems.

comment Set Default Website in IIS6
Have you checked the site bindings? One of them should include a binding with no hostname defined on the answering port. That's what will be the default. Check out this question: stackoverflow.com/questions/222230/…

comment Routing only some local IPs through VPN on dd-wrt
If you're adding the line # ip rule add from 192.168.0.0/24 table 10 then all traffic on your subnet will get pushed to the VPN. If you omit it and use only # ip rule add from 192.168.0.3/32 table 10 with the IPs of the specific IPs you want to have be VPN only it should work fine. If this is still an issue can you run route on the device and post the result?

comment phpBB configuration problem under Nginx
What's the intent with the rewrite rule? IIRC the php for the non-display pages already have validation to prevent people from viewing them directly.

comment Overriding destination directory from ROBOCOPY Job file?
Do you need this to use just the .rcj options? You could always make a .bat that takes an argument for $destinationDIR and passes it to robocopy.
