Thank you for your answer. However, LogZilla seems to be more centered on log processing than log delivery. For log delivery, there are only the common instructions of using syslog-ng with TCP. However, TCP syslog is not reliable when there are network problems and when servers may crash. Same thing for using heartbeat - there will be lost or duplicated messages in a switch-over. So I don't think that really answers the requirements. However, thanks for pointing out Log::Syslog::Fast, I will check its source code to see how it logs to achieve the fast moniker.

Actually, now that I read the dnsmasq documentation again, it seems that dnsmasq answers the DHCP addresses for active leases only - or atleast so it seems. So it might be that your solution is indeed the only one without specifying the addresses by hand.
