comment Exchange Server 2010 Relaying Spam
Yes, that's part of your problem. If your servers are relaying messages using compromised credentials then you can stop that from happening by unchecking everything except TLS and Anonymous. This will allow the connector to e used ONLY for delivering email into your organization.

comment Is it possible to move a mailbox from Exchange 2003 to 2010 without the mailbox being inaccesible?

comment Robocopy and NTFS Permissions
FYI, I think it's the /ZB option that causes Robocopy to request the bypass permission.

comment Robocopy and NTFS Permissions
No, you have that right. However, it is an optional right that (for example) Explorer doesn't ask for when you open it. Robocopy does ask for it. If the user running Robocopy has the right, then Robocopy can use it. If not, then robocopy's request will fail.

comment HP N40L / Intel 82574L VLAN Leakage
Build yourself an Ethernet tap. You will probably have to set the port speed to 100. Capture just one side to make sure that your server is sending the packet. Then you will know if you should investigate the server side or the network side.
