I like the Oracle back-end, but I'm not too keen on the Unix platform. I'll take a look.

Like most other ticket tracking systems this one does not do automatic assignment/presentation of a ticket to a particular CSR. When an email comes in I want the system to know which five of my 50 agents are capable of answering the email based on the address it came in on and automatically assign and present it to one of those agents based on availability and recent activity.

This product looks nice. I don't see a way to have tickets automatically presented to a CSR. Is this possible?

comment Remove Console Tree and Default to Standard in Services Control Panel
I didn't know you could edit the XML using the GUI, but it looks like you can. I copied the services.msc file and opened the copy by right clicking on it and choosing "Author". I then made all the changes I wanted then choose save from the file menu. This works great except that I have to launch my copy. I haven't figured out yet how to replace the original services.msc.

OK, I found how to turn the Console Tree off by setting ScopePaneVisible="false", but I haven't found how to switch from Extended to Standard.

Thanks, that's it. Our helpdesk uses that application. I should have known.

comment Two Dual Core vs. One Quad Core
Depending on the platform the licensing is .5*NumberOfCores which generally allows Oracle to charge more than per socket, so I don't expect it to change.

Interesting. I added explicit write permissions on the file and was able to modify it even though my effective permissions already showed that I could. I removed that and then tried to apply write permissions from the root level and have that cascade. That looked like it would work but didn't, so I took ownership of the folder and cascaded that. For some reason the third folder in is only how far the permissions cascade, so I modified that folders permissions and let them cascade and that did the trick.

I understand your third point now that you corrected it. I created a batch file to run explorer and then a shortcut to the batch file on the desktop so I can change the icon. By opening the shortcut with Run as Administrator I can get the elevated Explorer that can open documents with elevated privileges. Thanks.
