comment Is showing E-Mail Inline Attachments in Exchange/Outlook a bad practice?
yep, in addition if the OPs org doesn't force one, it'll be whatever the user has installed :-(, so maybe he could enable inline viewing w/ a forced viewer that doesn't automatic execute PDF code?

that's true, good point, but I think (could be wrong here) Outlook's default PDF viewer is Adobe Reader, should you have it installed.

comment Remote Server Administration Tools - Granular permission
Brad, welcome to the site, what _exactly is it you want to prevent them from administering? The reason I ask is that some stuff might fall under MS' Role Based Administration, and thus make things a bit easier for you.

comment Which ports are required in order to authenticate against a ldap server in another domain which is behind a firewall?
+1, but he might also want to check w/ the firewall admin on the NY side to make sure they're doing things standard and not doing some freaky port forwarding, or the like.

comment IIS7-Internet Explorer Cannot display the website, what could be the issue?
Samet, look at the question you linked to. Notice how the OP says Googling the problem has given me some suggesions, none of which have worked. I've double checked that Keep-Alives are enabled and I've tried enabling and disabling Kernel mode authentication in IIS. What other research have you done to solve this problem? Switching a website from local to hosted is a poor way to troubleshoot, let alone switching from IIS to APACHE.

Jason welcome to ServerFault. As asked, this type of question isn't a good fit for the site. The best thing to do is break this up into smaller, more specific questions, and also take a look at the best way to ask those questions here. In addition, I'd have to say self hosted email probably isn't necessary these days, given the vastness of cloud storage in comparison. I do wish you success with the company though.
