Yeah /etc/sysconfig/iptables doesn't exist for me either. However, /etc/sysconfig/iptables-config does exist. But it does not have firewalls rules inside of it as it the iptables file had before.

Regarding your comment below. Do you have an SSH service running doing port forwarding? If that is the case then you need to configure your ssh_config files and remove the port forwarding.

Do you have administrative rights on that machine? I just tried it with my own Win 2008 Server and I replicated exactly what you had and fixed it by changing the color.

Do this. RDP into your Windows 2008 machine. Right click on the Desktop. Select Personalize. Select Display Settings. Click the Drop down under Colors and select Highest (32 bit). Let me know if it changes then.
