Ubuntu 11.04 Server Crashing - failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED As follow-up, I installed CentOS 6.2 Minimal on the same hardware and has been running for one month. I guess in a year or so we'll know if it was OS related! |

User not found for cn=config in OpenLDAP? I read somewhere that the old way with slapd.conf doesn't work correctly with recent versions of Ubuntu? I don't remember the specific reason though. Are you running an LDAP server on ubuntu with the slapd.conf method? |

User not found for cn=config in OpenLDAP? I'm not sure I see the point of having config stored in an LDAP tree if you can't edit it from an LDAP client. It makes a simple change like increasing the loglevel into a day-long chore. I should be able to edit a config file and restart (like every other server process in the world) or use a client to make the changes. Do you know if other distros, maybe CentOS, might have a more user-friendly version of LDAP? |

User not found for cn=config in OpenLDAP? When trying to add the ldif, I get: additional info: object class 'simpleSecurityObject' requires attribute 'userPassword'. I tried adding a userPassword attribute, but then I get: ldap_add: Object class violation (65) - without any further information. |

Clients not recognizing secondary LDAP groups? I couldn't locate a file called modnss_ldap.so on the client. I'll try to increase the log level now and see if I can get the queries. |

Clients not recognizing secondary LDAP groups? I don't have a file called nss_ldap.conf... Do you mean /etc/nsswitch.conf? How do I see which queries are run? |

Apache2: How do I restrict access to a directory, but allow access to one file within it? Thanks for pointing that out. That answer didn't exist when I asked this question. :) |

How to access partitions inside a logical volume from the host machine? Thanks! For completeness, its kpartx -a /dev/my_volume_group/some_disk and then you'll be able to use /dev/mapper/my_volume_group-some_disk1 and /dev/mapper/my_volume_group-some_disk2 |
