comment Do SCCM 2012 R2 Maintenance Windows Inherit?
In your response you said that "During that maintenance window the machine will look for any active, applicable Deployments ... and run them". Does this include optional updates or only required?

comment Do SCCM 2012 R2 Maintenance Windows Inherit?
That does kind of answer my question. What I meant by "references a collection" was that, when I created the Windows Server 2008 R2 collection, for membership rules I choose the "Include Collections" option and selected the Monday Updates device collection.

comment Removing an update from a Software Update Group deletes the Package
Well it worked OK for a while. Now suddenly a couple of the monthly sub-folders have gone missing. Does anyone know what is causing the content to periodically get culled?

I'm going to try downloading the content yet again. This time the folder hierarchy is going to be Windows Server 2008 R2\201503. Last time when it deleted the content it deleted the 2015 folder and everything in it so a bunch of Deployment Packages need to be downloaded again.

comment How much contention is too much in VMware?
The only concern with that is the 8 cpu guest is one of of main production sql server database servers. We had tried reducing it to 4 before and things went ... awry. Guess we better try again.

Just looked at the graph for an exchange server we have on that overcommitted host. My graph looks the inverse of yours. CPU Usage hovers around 25% and CPU Ready spikes as high as 200% but on average is around 100%.

This host does have two 4 core CPU's on it and it has 1x8 CPU guest and 14x4 CPU guests.

comment Change DNS SOA Serial Number for zone
Our current primary replaced our previous primary dns server that apparently "died". I'm assuming that that process was kind of botched hence why our current primary is considered as "dieing". I have checked and all the other servers are set to secondary. What do you mean by "split brain DNS"?

comment Deploying Office 2013 Home and Business via System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2
I think this is working. Something is getting downloaded, but the Office Deployment Tool is not showing me any kind of status messages as it is doing it. Is there a trick? Also, when I try to do the package step it is returning really fast without the expected app-v package or any status messages to say if it passed or failed and why.

That's exactly what I've been looking for. I'll try that first thing in the morning. Thanks

comment System Center 2012 Service Manager change request status stuck at new
I've checked the workflow account and it is in the local administrators group as well as in the Administrators role in SCSM. It didn't have a mailbox but it does now. As mentioned previously, I don't have any workflows that have failed. I do have the one that says it needs attention but all the items that need attention say they have Succeeded. The workflow accounts password has not expired and is not locked or disabled.

I've reviewed all the workflows and with the exception of the "Resolve Child Incidents (Parent Incident resolved)" workflow none of them say that they need attention. This one says it has 13 that need attention yet they all say Succeeded???

I am just going through the workflows now. I have found a few that do have items that need attention (it would be nice if you could filter on workflows that need attention) and am attempting to get them to retry. Will let you know.
