Yeah. I do pretty much the same thing "du -S | sort -n -r |less". I really would love to see a programme that looked like htop and cron'd like mlocate but when ran gave you accurate and contemporary info about the files on your system.

I've just played with a bunch of these and there's a lot more to investigate with the vim config you listed but it fits my expectation of sane defaults and useful features. Not sure how a community wiki lets me vote as 'answered' but anyhoo. Thanks!

The db 'mysql' was accessible from the Cpanel WHM if I logged in as 'root'. From there I can access a version of phpmyadmin which has the 'mysql' database containing permissions

I'm not sure how to reply to you @Raphael. It seems a very elegant way of doing things. I've used apt pinning before years ago but I never really 'got' it. The examples I've used above are straight from the apt_preferences man page.
