Thanks. How do you verify it?

It does, but I could not verify that system state includes the DHCP database. I saw it does the roles, but not the actual data. Do you have a link for that, so I can document it? I can't find it anywhere.

comment How do I create a read only user for LDAP queries in Microsoft Active Directory?
It was invalid user and credentials. I thought I had it right. I guess I was wrong. Sorry. Thanks.

comment Is IIS Advanced Logging faster than ODBC logging?
What do you mean bulk inserts after the fact? Do you mean I do logging in another format and then the custom importer later puts that into SQL Server?

comment Is it possible to move a mailbox from Exchange 2003 to 2010 without the mailbox being inaccesible?
I know it isn't the network. Server is brand new. I don't know any physical reason. Just slow.

The way I'm doing it now takes days to move some mailboxes.

comment Why does my XP client try to join a domain with the pre-windows 2000 domain name?
@tonyroth I edited it. Yes. I pinged the domain. No host files. No lmhosts either.

comment Why does my XP client try to join a domain with the pre-windows 2000 domain name?
@tonyroth I can ping my domain controllers and the suffix along. I can do nslookup for both. I found several things when I searched correctly with "xp cannot join 2008 domain." Don't know what it was. I am leaning towards the machine though, the client, not the domain.

comment Can a Windows 2000 SP4 Domain Controller authenticate in a WIndows 2008 R2 Domain after I transfer FSMO from 2000 to 2008?
@Cheekaleak Hope it keeps working. The role holder is 2008 R2 now.

I upgraded to 2008 level with adprep. I had no errors. Schema is 2008 R2. Rolls have been transferred to Win2k8.

Then I do not understand. I used adprep on my 2000 DCs. Everything in the schema was moved to 2008 R2. Made the 2k8 DC. Moved roles from 2k to 2k8. Everything is working.

comment Does the Global Catalog Server have to be in the same subnet as the Exchange server?
I have two DCs. I'm just getting rid of one of them. The other is Global Catalog DC but it is in another subnet, same domain though, so I wasn't sure.

comment In Windows 2000 Server SP4 Rollup 1, does a Primary DNS zone automatically get a copy of the master DNS records?
No. One domain. I am just going to promote my member server to a DC. It will configure the DNS for me on the new DC from the First DC in the Forest, which is what I meant by the Forest Root Domain Controller.

I believe you and do appreciate help. I was getting my terminology from places like this technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc739460(v=ws.10).aspx
