comment Active Directory remove user from GroupA if member of GroupB
took me a devil of a time to get the right CN= syntax for our weird AD setup, but this example was enough to get me through to the end of my first powershell script that does real work. Thanks!

comment Replace Notepad with Notepad2 (or Notepad++)
-1 for link only answer (and it's better to use the image file execution method anyway)

comment icacls equivalents of explorer basic permissions
there's a syntax error in the example. It should be a space, not a colon, after /grant.

comment mklink to network share or UNC path or Mapped Drive?
some posts here, in 22-Jul-2011 indicate a potential issue with symbolic network links: "...linked folders are not watched in realtime, so the software doesn't see when files are changed or added. Only scanning them (verify selection) finds the changes in these folders.". This could be a real problem with large file collections (but perhaps mapped drives and UNC are also susceptible, so it's all a wash?)

comment mklink to network share or UNC path or Mapped Drive?
possibly related to the performance aspect, serverfault.com/questions/411110/… (though it's unclear from the answer if this is specific to symbolic links or a general MS-Office and network paths consideration)
