comment Why multiple PTR records in DNS is not recommended?
How can you guarantee that a any problem isn't happening in the "infinite" number of different systems around the Internet? Your answer is nice but this argument is of no value. Moreover, client bugs are irrelevant IMHO, except if a "significant" number of them are impacted.

comment where are the default ulimit values set? (linux, centos)
@rogerdpack yes, PAM is certainly enabled, but, again, as I said in my answer: "please note that many processes will not go through PAM (usually, if they are not launched by a logged in user, like daemons and maybe cron jobs)". Our discussion has no added-value, therefore, if you delete all your comments, I will delete mine. Thank you.

You only repeat what can be read on the links I provided. You don't explain the real mechanism. Your answer needs added value IMHO.

comment Why multiple PTR records in DNS is not recommended?
"The PTR record is expected to identify" : by who? It looks like a de facto rule, as software developers started to consider that only one PTR was the norm. Am I right?

@PervonZweigbergk This is not what I asked, but for example, because I have several names pointing to the same IP, and want the reverse to match all of them.

@Iain I can assure you they don't, flagged or not. The official policy here is mostly to "let go until some serious and official/legal action is taken from the copyright older". See this answer flagged multiple time for example: still here. You're saying SF is an exception?
