I've been a computer hobbiest all my life. I spent one year as a CS major in college, but changed to International Relations after spending 2 years in Mexico. I'm a self-taught programmer. I've taught myself PHP, VB.NET, and C#. I do programming for both work and pleasure.

My current pet project is BatteryBar. It's a battery meter for your taskbar. It keeps historical data on your battery to provide you with a very accurate and consistent reading on how long your battery will last.

comment How can I create multiple VirtualHost entries that share a set or RewriteRules?
I should have done more searching of the docs. I thought there was an include but my initial search only came up with pages about server-side includes. Thanks.

Is there a way to verify that the requests are hitting the file cache and not the disk?

The concern is that the apache configuration would be setup to check for that file on every request even if the site is active. If the check passes (file exists) then the user is redirected to a separate site. As soon as the file is deleted, the redirection stops and the site loads normally.

comment IIS7 compression failing with “COMPRESSION_DISABLED” despite having the option enabled
According to the documentation, those are on by default and when I check the settings in the Configuration Editor, they show as True.
