I am primarily a java web developer working in London. I am familiar with all the usual suspects; jsp, javascript, jQuery, etc.

I have worked extensively with various java frameworks e.g. Struts2, Spring, Hibernate.

I am currently learning Scala.

I am nerdier than 94% of all people. Are you a nerd? Click here to take the Nerd Test, get geeky images and jokes, and write on the nerd forum!

comment How to hide a password passed as command line argument?
What about wrapping in a script that reads the password from the commandline and passes it into the program?

comment Is it OK to set up passwordless `sudo` on a cloud server?
@Matt, that's my point - increase privileges to users who require it and are allowed to do so according to rules defined in the sudoers file. If you are not allowed to sudo then you should not be granted the privilege to in the sudoers file. The password is not, in my experience, used as a security feature - or at least not as a major component of a security protocol.

+1 the sudo password isn't really there for secutiry (as far as I can see) but more as an idiot check. Not having there could cause untold havok.
