I recently graduated from Vassar College, and am now a programmer at iVantage Health Analytics. I like all sorts of programming, and right now I'm interested in web development.

comment Trouble starting apache via apachectl
The reason it complains about lynx (a command-line browser), is it needs it to display to output the results of apachectl fullstatus. It's a bit silly for it not to have a fallback, but there you are. You should be able to get lynx via aptitude if you want it.

Could you explain how to do this part? "use mod_setenvif to copy the header into an internal environment variable"

Well, unfortunately it's just logging a "-" for the header name I specified, but it's a start! Perhaps that's why it's not working correctly.

comment How to organize millions of static files to serve efficiently over the web?
"Just putting everything in one directory and let nginx serve the files will slow down after a certain amount of files depending on the file system." Just curious--why is this? I don't think I can answer your question, but I'd like to know why this solution is inefficient? Because the filesystem looks through the file names sequentially?
