comment FreeBSD slow transfers - RFC 1323 scaling issue?
Thanks for the reply. I passed on to the team that was actually asking this question and they seem to have gotten past this point already. Throwing a +1 here since I found the reply valuable.

comment How to use Solaris 10 as my desktop?
"unsupported" has wide range of definitions. Solaris does a better job than any other OS I know of keeping backwards compatibility but being progressive at the same time. If you are using "unsupported" in the strictest tense of the word than I would STILL use OpenSolaris as your desktop environment and install your application in a Solaris 10 zone, both problems solved.

comment Low-noise fans for Sun 1U rack server?
Good question. In general I'd love to be able to buy rackmount servers for home development / storage but noise is a huge issue. I've seen sound insulating racks but they normally are in the price range of the systems themselves. Unfortunately for 1U servers the smaller the fan, the faster it has to move to blow air. Fortunately for the X2100, it has larger fans were the blades are parallel to the MB so it's not as noisy in all cases as other vendors' servers.

comment What Good PostgreSQL Administration Tools Exist?
+1 because it is a great tool. It looks like the project hasn't been touched in a long time. It also has a lot of issues processing a lot of data (it is a PHP script after all).
