comment OpenVPN server on Windows 7 - How to route specific IP addresses to clients?
Oh damn.. that may well be very relevant.. turns out that the "Routing and Remote Access" service was disabled on the server running OpenVPN server. I haven't tested anything just yet, as I'm leaving the office now, but I'll try tomorrow. Seems like it could well be the cause. :) Cheers. Didn't even know about such services haha..

comment OpenVPN server on Windows 7 - How to route specific IP addresses to clients?
Found out that our main router/modem (gateway: 192.168.50.1) has no way of entering static routes.. does that mean the only solution is to add the routes directly on the Apache server? Thanks..

Aside from the registry change, I haven't done anything. Is their a specific service (services.msc) that needs to be started on the OpenVPN server?

Yes, the default gateway is 192.168.50.1, which is a modem/router on the LAN. Perhaps there is a config on the router I can add to. I have looked through the GUI for it, and found nothing thus far. I'll browse through again.

(Apache <-> VPN Client): Can you ping the OpenVPN client 10.8.0.6 from the Apache server? No I cannot. Nor from any other computers.

To continue answering your previous questions: Can you ping the OpenVPN server from the Apache server on the 192.168.50.x address? Can you ping it on the 10.8.0.1 address? -- Yes I can ping 192.168.50.10 (OpenVPN server) from the Apache server (192.168.50.100) and also all other LAN servers can too. However, no, I cannot ping 10.8.0.1 from any of the LAN servers or Apache.

However, despite adding that route on the OpenVPN server computer, I cannot ping 10.8.0.1 from any LAN server/computers. Nor can I ping any 192.168.50.x addresses including 192.168.50.10 from any connected clients.

What I am wondering - what is the gateway computer? Is that the OpenVPN server itself? Or, is the gateway computer the router - whereby all traffic passes through?

Okay, more information. I have added the route: "route add 10.8.0.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.50.10" on command line on the OpenVPN server which has the IP addresses of 10.8.0.1 and 192.168.50.10 respectively.

I did reboot after enabling routing. I haven't checked whether I see IP Routing Enabled.. I'll check right now and get back to you. (BTW thanks for all your time helping!!)

Can you explain what you mean by having a route on my default gateway for 10.8.0.0/24 via. 192.168.50.10? Do you mean creating a route on the 192.168.50.10 system for 10.8.0.0/24? This is the same system that runs the OpenVPN server and is essentially a "bridge" between the LAN and the connected clients.
