comment Allowing directory view/traversal for a specific VirtualHost in Apache 2.2
Just adding a comment, for some one else.. I had the same issue.. I need to add the <Location /> Options Indexes </Location> Directive in the vhost to override the default directive.. This worked for me and I was able to get directory listing for the root as well.

comment Load balanced EC2 instances for high performance hosting?
FYI: In an m3.xlarge instance, we consistently get 80+ Mbit/s NW bandwidth when we do performance tests (us-east Region)..

One thing to note here is that Network performance will scale up as the Instance size goes up.. I.E m3.xlarge will get you better NW Bandwidth compared to m3.large... I'm not sure an m3.medium will work for NFS (since you say you have a very busy site).. Please check the setup before you switch on the prod traffic. You could also leverage S3 + CDN to deliver static Contents. Also if you host an SSL site, consider SSL offloading in the ELB.

comment How does loss of DWORD synchronization affect the health of an SAS disk?
I Believe it would affect performance... (though I'm not Sure, I could be wrong) Check [Link]seagate.com/staticfiles/support/disc/manuals/… Page 157... Quote "While dword synchronization is lost, the data stream re ceived is invalid and dwords are not be passed to the link layer".. Are you having performance issues, Did you try contacting the vendor?

comment Back up S3 bucket to another?
Take a look at s3tools.org/s3cmd.. You can do something like s3cmd --recursive cp s3://mybucket s3://mybucket_backup PS: I haven't tried this myself

comment Trying to understand the correct way to create a static route in CentOS, please assist
Not sure.. Does the interface come up on boot/restart?.. I do not have a CENTOS/RHEL 6.5 test box ATM.. I'm not sure if there is any change in ifup-routes on RHEL 6.5.
