comment On IIS, how do I patch the SSL 3.0 POODLE vulnerability (CVE-2014-3566)?
I tried running Fix it 50495 on Windows 2008, and it failed with error "This Microsoft Fix it does not apply to your operating system or application version." Oh well.

comment What to do with secured sites in IIS in regard of SSL 3 vulnerability (POODLE Bites)
You can view browser support information here. It's a big chart, you're interested in the column "TLS 1.0". Any browser that supports TLS 1.0 (or better) is going to be able to access your site just fine after you disable SSL 3.0.

Yeah, I've already started down this path... I just find it rather shocking--I would never have guessed that Windows 8.0 -> 8.1 would blow away all your MySQL data!
