comment Windows Deployment Services without a domain?
the highest voted answer to this meta question meta.stackexchange.com/questions/5280/embrace-the-non-googlers is to downvote the person making the LMGTFY comment, just sayin. (also, tone down the insults, please, it 'does not look good')

Any particular server OS, or are you after an OS-agnostic solution?

It's half an answer, I was hoping someone would come along with the variable name. I suppose it may not exist, which seems crazy.

comment Create Exchange 2003 server side rule without logging in as user
Pretty certain this would be a snap in 2007 with powershell, but that's no help whatsoever. Maybe they eventually hired some exchange admins for design?

'found records of the message in the logs on the main Exchange server' - which one is 'main'?

comment What purpose does an SMTP server serve? Why can't email be sent directly from email client to recipient?
IMO this is the best email analogy. You don't send snail mail to a person, you send it to an address - then it's up to that address to get the mail directly to the person. Many of the same reasons apply.

comment Documents on a Windows 7 client connected to a Windows 2003 server's domain
If you can't browse to the files, I'm going to suspect the folder needs either the correct file-level and/or share-level permissions. Assuming you're heading to \\client\c$\users\public\documents ?

comment how to setup a global contact list in exchange 2003?
I'd +1 if there were a quick summary of the steps - never know when a howto site is going to rearrange their content.

Possibly a duplicate - does this answer your question Josh? serverfault.com/questions/15040/…

comment Forefront Client Security On Server with Exchange 2010
I'd recommend his advice over mine, in general. Though I've never had a virus get through to my Exchange servers, and I don't personally prefer to run OS AV on them.

Stackoverflow may be a better resource for this. Unless other admins here are doing a lot of registry writing?
