Has anyone found a (eg bash) shell terminal for Windows as good as the OS X one? ConEmu is a worthy successor to Console2 and a big improvement. |

Has anyone found a (eg bash) shell terminal for Windows as good as the OS X one? It has 3 options for antialiasing: None, Standard and ClearType. |

Windows SSH Tunnel Manager The server component, WinSSHD, is also free for personal use. From the Bitvise website: "When the personal edition is chosen during installation, WinSSHD can be used free of charge by non-commercial personal users." |

What are some non-IT/Admin books every Admin should read? There's a similar question on StackOverflow with many relevant answers: stackoverflow.com/questions/38210/… |

Anti-static wrist straps: are they worth it? The view of the community means something if you're making a value judgement, though. A bit like asking, is RAID x worth it? Or, is browsing with Javascript disabled worth it? It depends on the situation, of course, but just because bad things can happen doesn't mean they will and so you have to weigh up risks vs. the precautions. |

Anti-static wrist straps: are they worth it? Are there any studies or other scientific evidence to back this up? I'm not refuting the claim, just interested in the evidence. It would be interesting to run a long-term study with 3 groups: a wriststrap group, a non-wristband but taking other precautions group, and a control group who know nothing of the experiment. Then compare the hardware failure rates of the groups. |

What uses are there for IRC in the professional IT industry? Great question that occurred to me too. In fact, when I first saw "What do IRC clients have to do with the professional IT industry?" my initial answer was almost "You might as well ask: What does ServerFault have to do with the pro IT industry?" ;-) |
