I am principal consultant at RisingRoad Professional Services specializing in SQL Anywhere and MobiLink. I began my working career with mainframe development in 1972, the same year I had my first experience with a relational database management system. Since then I have worked with Oracle, DB2, ASE, MSS and MySQL databases as well as SQL Anywhere.
I first worked with distributed databases in 1993 using Sybase SQL Server, Gupta SQLBase and a custom application program to do the synchronization. In 1995 I began working with SQL Anywhere 5.5 and SQL Remote, and in 1998 with MobiLink.
Today I work with clients like Cisco, Fedex, Medtronic, Simbex, Silverback, Topaz, and the North Carolina Department of Transport, and I have served as Expert Witness and Special Master in court cases involving database synchronization. I am also a member of Team Sybase and the iAnywhere Solutions Customer Advisory Board.
I am the author of SQL Anywhere Studio 9 Developer's Guide and I have published articles at Dr. Dobbs, Developer.com, SD Times and Sybase.com ...and on my blog.
