comment Is this a valid backup strategy for MongoDB?
You'd have to do some testing, but I 'm not sure if the secondary will just standby if for some reason the primary process goes down. I've always wanted my secondaries to take over ;)

Then I'm going to bet on a bad driver or bad wireless card (which is why those are recommendations #2 and #3.) Borrow a PCMCIA or USB wireless card and see if those get frame errors.

Then I can only re-iterate my current recommendations. Good luck!

Well, if you're confident that 10.0.0.5 is OK, then it's possibly that it's 10.0.0.4 that is spewing garbage out of its radios. Turn .4 off and use .5 for awhile. Do the number of frame errors listed in ifconfig continue to increase?

comment Ubuntu 10.10 MySQL
Upstart's syntax to find out the status is like: sudo status mysql. If it's running, you will see something like mysql start/running, process 9475. To stop the service, sudo stop mysql will do. And to start, sudo start mysql

comment Bind SSH port forwarding to IP by user
The OP is asking how to force SSH traffic with a specific source address per-user, not how to add more IPs to his NIC. He already has that.

comment Bond4 Configuration over 6 nic - help needed
What would be helpful to answer this question is the ifconfig output for all the interfaces as well as the switch model and configuration.

Are you sure that your screens are terminating and they are not going to the background when you get disconnected?

comment Setting spanning tree link “priorities” in Cisco switches
I should also mention that if this is the case, running a separate cable just for the VLAN that the device is on isn't going to help him either.

comment Setting spanning tree link “priorities” in Cisco switches
EtherChannel and LACP load-balancing both work based off of source/dest MAC addresses. If OP has a single device (single MAC address) that's saturating the link then LACP/EtherChannel isn't going to help him in this case.

@Zoredache Good call, we've seen weird issues (mis-negotiations, interface errors) as a result of non-hardcoded speed/duplex settings before

@justdelegard It depends if it's configured to use Spanning-Tree Protocol or Rapid Spanning-Tree Protocol. What's the model of the switch in question?
