comment Google Chrome and kerberos authentication against Apache
What version of windows / chrome do you use to test it? Does SSO on IE / firefox works OK ? What if you typed in the username and password twice ? I have a problem where apache ask for credentials twice : serverfault.com/questions/100288/….

Client will still have control over their DNS after the delegation. Remember , you are only delegating the subdomain, not the whole zone. Unfortunately I don't know what happen if there are duplicate/conflicting records. I'll give it a try when I get some free time and let you know how it goes.

The issue im having is not how to get SSO working, but when SSO is not possible ( ie external user trying to connect ) it prompted authentication twice.

Keeping things as simple as possible allows you to add more servers quickly. With mail server, having 2 less powerfull server is better than having 1 powerfull server. If you manage more than 10 inbound SMTP servers, the performance vs benefits of configuring every little detail is just not worth the time. Linux & postfix also getting better everytime and further down the road you probably dont need to do these tweaks ( example of this is tuning shmax kernel parameters)
