comment Should I install Nagios on the pfsense?
Sure, why not? That would be a much better solution than installing on your router.

comment How to take EBS Volume snapshot and store to S3 Reduced Redundancy?
That's correct. EBS snapshots are stored in S3, but not in a manner in which you (the user) has control of them.

comment How to fix erroneous virus detection?
False positives aside, why on earth is your ISP in the position to rename the files on your webserver? That is horrible.

comment Why does FTP passive mode require a port range as opposed to only one port?
What? This is completely incorrect. A TCP socket is defined by the 4-tuple (source IP, source port, destination port, destination IP). Many TCP sockets can be created and served simultaneously from the same destination port:IP mapping. The FTP server process can serve data two and from any number of network clients at the same time.

comment Redirect outgoing ports in windows
Opening all of those ports to the internet is a sure-fire way to get your server compromised. If you need to access your server remotely, use a VPN.

@BeachSamurai Chopper is right. There is plenty of documentation around on both systems. It doesn't appear that you've done any research into this on your own, which is a prerequisite for asking questions here.

I am not an expert on the topicality guidelines of either U&L or SO, but by all means, you can try there if you deep the topic to be appropriate.

comment Which Linux kernel versions are the most prevalent?
The question was closed because this is not a question that comes into play with professional systems administration. To choose a kernel, one uses whatever version satisfies his or her requirements. What everyone else is using doesn't really come into play.

comment Which Linux kernel versions are the most prevalent?
The question is really impossible to answer, short of performing a large-scale survey, and even with that, the data you'd get would likely not be a representative sample of what's out there.

Take a survey of the stable version(s) of the most popular linux distros and see what kernel versions they are using.
