It's still probably a valid address. Why do you think it's bad? For example, try pinging 2001:470:1d:165:dead:beef::. It's a perfectly valid address in the 2001:470:1d:165::/64 subnet. I think you're making the invalid assumption that the last group of the IPv6 address has to be non-zero, duplicating a similar assumption people make about IPv4.
