comment Open Source Crawler
Belongs on StackOverflow. But to be helpful, you need to seed your crawler with links and then let it explore. If you wanted to explore sites from your city, you'd need to start with a say, "Boston" portal type site and go from there. There's no real master list or API for it, it's clever programming and focus upon target sites.

comment Why are my php extensions being compiled for PHP4 and not PHP5
+1, I usually just call the proper phpize, I keep my "other" PHP in its own prefix making it simple.

comment Share file system between VMWare Linux and Standalone Linux
+1 Nice answer. NFS is the route I went in this situation, with a little tuning and tweaking I managed to get respectable performance from it.

comment Software for a scalable, reliable, multi-TB storage array?
I would -not- use ZFS-FUSE for something like this. ZFS-FUSE is at best a stalled beta, it'll work but nowhere near what you'd get on FreeBSD or Solaris, and I wouldn't call it stable by any means.

comment How can I virtualize a Unix machine using VMware?
Are these on the same machine? If so, it's simple, if not it's still simple but not -as- simple.
