Thank you @mfinni. check in/out is too advanced for the users. Going to look into the Sharepoint possibilities.

comment Share folders versioning
Thank you @SpacemanSpiff. Shadowcopy seems nice but I would prefer only versioning only when the user saves. Even better if the user could go back to another version by himself. Something similar to dropbox. I cannot use dropbox for teams because the data must be stored locally. Company policy.

@TheUnixJanitor It is general indeed. I have a big part done with scripts, it updates a file and a page is parsing this file every 10 secs. It checks all kinds of stuff. But now I just wrote about 700-1000 lines of code and instead of writing 10K more I would like to find tools to help me with this. I use this for daily operating tasks.

Yeah, that is why I'm trying to use something already in existence. This is like monitoring for small specific stuff. I have a case that I'm doing a telnet session to check a gsm signal strength. But this stuff could probably be integrated somewhere in some standard format.

I found out how to fix it by trial and error. You can debug it: stackoverflow.com/questions/621004/…

Thank you DOM. Seems to be almost working. I had a typo. My main problem with these files is I don't know how to debug the file. Do you have any idea how to debug it?

@joequerty They are all going through the same proxy, and the ping is fast to the router/firewall from any pc.

comment High ping everywhere except one PC
@joeqwerty The ping to the router/firewall are fast. But how can it be fast in just one specific machine? Shouldn't it be a configuration problem in the machines?

@joeqwerty I updated the question, ping test with speedtest.net.
