comment MySQL - log every connections
If there's a way to redirect a specific data from the general log 'Connect' and truncate the log file, it would be perfect.

comment MySQL - log every connections
mysql refuses to start when the log file is a FIFO pipe. I don't want to data, only the "Connect" information. I'm not worried about the performance hit if it's only for a day.

comment Multiple client connecting to master MySQL over SSL
I had to reinstall the exact same version to make it work, seems that my 5.1.33.glibc 'server' doesn't accept ssl connection coming from 5.0 or 5.5 !!

They all 3 have the same issuer/issuer_hash. Everything else is exactly the same, exact the Common Name.

comment RSync over SSH - permission denied even though the user is in the root group
I think it's less secure to authorize root, even with a key, than authorizing users + key, then having to sudo/su on top of that. But I hear you, I'm out of option so I'll do it, thx :)

Can't, I forbid the root login in my sshd config, only user + key.

comment Mysql - which CPU is better?
I agree, but we already spent a lot of time optimizing our queries. The time will come when I'll have to change the hardware, so will a 5000$ CPU will be worth or a "cheap" one will be enough ?

comment Mysql - which CPU is better?
Wow 5.5 seems to be a lot more optimize for multi-core. But will it work on MyISAM tables ? Every optimization on Percona is made for innoDB :(

We have 99% of MyISAM tables. 40GB of RAM and our DBA already has optimize parameters in my.cnf
