comment Hardware requirements for 100 virtualized high performance Windows 7 desktops?
Internet access and ability to download software is an indispensable part of any developer's toolset. I would refuse to work in your environment, and if these restrictions were imposed on me after signing on, I would find a new job. Good luck accomplishing anything.

comment Running snort behind iptables
It seems to me Snort and iptables have different purposes. Snort is a packet inspection/analysis tool, while iptables is primarily a port blocking firewall tool that has some packet inspection capabilities. I really want to use both, with iptables acting as the outer perimeter and Snort examining only what gets through iptables. Is this possible?

comment Building Tripwire RPM on CentOS6
I recently switched from Fedora to CentOS due to the dizzying pace of releases and overwhelming new experimental features :-) I was unaware of the EPEL repository. Thanks!

comment How to backup 20+TB of data?
+1 Well said. I'm surprised how the difference between Backup and Archive is, in general, poorly understood. I do full and incremental backups of my system and ephemeral data such as email & documents, but archive my photography (1.2TB and growing :-). Wish I could give another +1 for the disk-to-disk suggestion as well.

comment how to run Tomcat without using port 8080
What exactly do you mean by "without using an arbitrary port"? What port do you want to run it on?

comment How to fix access to the requested resource which has been denied for Tomcat webapp?
I didn't downvote, but this is probably because your question is (1) Off-topic for SO as it is not about programming and likely belongs on Server Fault, and (2) hard to read; you should use standard punctuation and paragraphs, and (3) You haven't shown any effort to solve the problem yourself. Please read the FAQ and How to Ask for details.

comment Convey multicast (to another LAN) through WAN disabling multicast
You should take a look at this Cisco document which gives a pretty clear explanation and configuration settings for Cisco routers. Even if your hardware is not Cisco it may provide you with enough information to configure your hardware.
