comment Setting Up Git Repository on Remote Windows Server?
It's not the ONLY GUI method - there's also gitstack.com (I am not involved in the project & haven't tried it). There also might be others.

comment Log every command executed from root
You can just run sudo su - and have a root shell that won't be logged (except that you started it). This is what I normally type when I want to do more than a single command as root in one go, or if I want tab completion in directories normal users can't read.

comment phpBB: How to handle spammy registrations?
CAPTCHAs are a good idea, but ReCaptcha doesn't seem to be working for us - we're still getting lots of spam registrations.

comment Global DNS provider: DNSMadeEasy vs UltraDNS
Unless I am missing something, opendns.com doesn't seem to provide a hosting service, only a lookup service.

But that doesn't help because both networks have a 192.168.1.10 address that he wants to send traffic between.

comment Convert a CSV file to a XLS file on the linux command line?
In Office 2007, I get a warning "The file you are trying to open is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and from a trusted souce before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?", which probaly isn't acceptable in many cases.

comment Convert a CSV file to a XLS file on the linux command line?
If a csv saved with a .xls extension doesn't work, you could try a tab separated text file. That's an easy conversion as long as there are no newlines or tabs in the data.

What search string to you type into google to get those answers? What are the advantages / disadvantages of each? This is a completely valid question for this site.

comment When would you use the “password never expires” option?
I really have no understanding of how forcing users to change their passwords is supposed to help. Do users like to reveal their old passwords after a while? I guess it helps if the attacker wants to lie low for a while before launching an attack, but that seems like a small unlikely gain.

comment Graphical MySQL tools
This would be a good answer if it didn't start with the statement "There is no free GUI". If you edit that, I'll upvote you.
