How can I give my printer a hostname other people on the network will see? No Active Directory, and yes, only external. |

How can I give my printer a hostname other people on the network will see? If I set the hostname to "1600n-printer", then ping 1600n-printer, I'm told the host can't be resolved. I'm assuming this is because my lookup is taking place with our ISP's DNS; how can I insert a record between my machine and our ISP's DNS? |

How can I give my printer a hostname other people on the network will see? This is where I'm missing knowledge: I can set the hostname, but how is that picked up by other computers on the network? |

How can I give my printer a hostname other people on the network will see? Now we're getting to the heart of my networking gap: we're using our ISP's DNS. There's a level I can set this at before the lookup gets out of the office, though, right? Router? |

SAN + MySQL replication- is that what I want for my load-balanced Drupal cluster? ps: I don't have enough reputation, but I'd vote this up if I did. |

SAN + MySQL replication- is that what I want for my load-balanced Drupal cluster? I'm pretty sure I'll have help on the GFS/OCFS side of things from someone who's much more familiar with it, but that's just the sort of advice I need to make an informed decision. "more complicated than they're worth if you have to ask here" sums up plenty of time sinks I've blundered into over the years, so that's a really helpful bit of advice. |

SAN + MySQL replication- is that what I want for my load-balanced Drupal cluster? Sorry, I should have been clearer- I meant "single install" as in "one code base served up by multiple servers". "share sites/all/files out concurrently to each web node" will be my locution of choice going forward, though. |
