comment How can I trigger a script to run after the rsyncdaemon received file changes to a certain folder?
Thank you very much, both things that you suggest work great together! I would left out the "awk '{print $1}'" after md5sum, because by leaving it in you basically guarantee that renames won't be detected, only content changes or adding/removing files

@axk: Follow the accepted answer until sourceforge.net/projects/passwdhk That project and it's parent project: acctsync.sourceforge.net That is surely what you want. Now we only need to erase all the crap answers in this post

comment When IP aliasing how does the OS determine which IP address will be used as source for outbound TCP/IP connections?
This answer here is upvoted too much and contains to many edits and confuses many things and does not help. The answers of tbman and jknapka are excellent and helped me very much.

In the sample, maybe replace "-d 1.2.3.4/0" with "-d 1.2.3.4/332" or "-d 1.2.3.4"

Audit trail and accountability? You're joking, right? It's soo easy to do something bad as someone else if you are admin. You can even manipulate the event log using a trick where someone injects code into LSASS. I can always inject bad scripts into users pcs, programms, login profiles, etc. that steal oder manipulate informationen. You people are just THINKING your systems would be secure from yourself, but that is not the case, a admin can always do everything he wants
