comment Must I install every possible printer driver for RDP clients?
I have had no issues at all with print redirection working. I only wondered if I hsad to worry about the dire warning of impending doom for a missing driver they wouldn't attempt to use anyway.

I agree, but it is telling me I the user have the file open, when I do not see any evidence that I do. I never did trust the neighbor's fish either.

It may be another question, but when I see all of the open processes, how do I determine the specific file with the problem? You may be right concerning the AV. Do you know if the Av would lock as the accessing user?

comment Why machine is no longer available to logon remotely after logoff
I admit I don't know where to look. Since I see nothing listed on the domain controller events log,for the machine or user, I am assuming no policy is prohibiting the login. Is this something to look at on local policy for this machine?

The checkbox requiring Ctrl+Alt+Del for users in the User Manager. Could this be applying to remote users? I am 2000 miles away from this machine, so it is hard to just try things without locking myself out.

I will look at AV. One of these users does have very limited access to a single directory on the network. If they logoff would that limited access persist prior to a new logon?

thanks for that. I am getting corruption now when the application is left open indefinitely with unsaved images which it catalogs.

comment win7 internet access blocked when using a particular static ip
the static ip was reserved a for this machine and excluded from distribution in dhcp. there is nothing else on that ip. I can ping the internal dns which resolves names for all othe machines fine. I can not ping 8.8.8.8 however so am blocked on this side of the router i guess.
