comment Run GUI application via cronjob in Ubuntu?
I made it work with xvfb-run /path/to/myscript.py :) As I said, the script captures screenshots of a list of websites, that's why I need X.

This works perfectly fine via SSH (without the -X option) but not via Cron.

comment Run GUI application via cronjob in Ubuntu?
Yes, I run the cron on the server. I do not have access to this computer physically, just by SSH. Does it really make a difference if the user I ssh with is the same as the main user for the desktop machine?

comment Troubleshooting mailserver (Postfix, Dovecot) on Ubuntu Server 9.10?
Sorry, the problem is that when I send a mail to the account I have set up, the server isn't fetching anything. I don't know if the server is able to allow other apps to collect mail either, that's why I want to create an e-mail directly in the Maildir/ directory.

comment Add “silent” user to a group in Ubuntu?
How can it do that? If www-data belongs to group site-x it means that it can do everything the group site-x can. But user site-x cannot do everything that group www-data can and therefore it wouldn't be able to read/write site-y

comment Apache config works for www.domain.com but not domain.com
Ok, it wasn't really any other option but a standard site was defined which was overriding my options. Once I removed it all is well.

I did a grep on "domain.com" but found nothing wierd in either /etc/ or /var/.

comment Apache config works for www.domain.com but not domain.com
When I visit domain.com I get to the standard Apache index file in /var/www/index.html... But www.domain.com points to /var/www/stable/index.php
