It looked promising, but I asked them and they don't allow their service to be used for file storage - just like pretty much every other web host.

Thanks, tried it, but ran into a few errors with the large tables.

The SSIS package sounded very promising and I tried it, but unfortunately it runs out of memory and fails. :( ERROR [HY000] Out of memory while reading tuples.; Error while executing the query (PSQLODBC35W.DLL)

That was my gut reaction, too, but most web hosts disallow that. They say that you are only allowed to store files used by your website (ie. the one you're hosting with them).

It's a web server, so nobody will be running X on it. I might want php5-gd, but I'm not sure why it's dependent on X libraries at all.

Thanks, I tried that, but couldn't really figure it out. The YaST interface for package management is actually less user-friendly than the command-line zypper, it seems.

Thanks, I think the "architecture-changing" packages are the key. I do wish there was a way to remove a given package and everything that depends on it!

Good to know about this, but didn't work in this particular case. :( I guess it's not enabled.

No, I don't know the model - it's provided by the DC. I suspect there's one KVM for multiple machines, too, so I don't have full access to it, only to my server.

I am connected over a remote KVM device - but I don't know how to make it reboot the server. I don't have any menu or anything, I just see the server's screen (in text mode, of course).
