This is a very common question. See this answer serverfault.com/questions/344105/…

Type a list of your crontab and your perl script. Because of the ^I (tab character) in the log above I suggest you delete the crontab line that contains your script and retype it. Delete the line, exit crontab editor and then reinsert it again. You may have more "whitespace" characters that interfere with the execution and as a result mail get sent to your Gmail account constantly.

Gmail as a system has these limits. This has nothing to do with mail hosting offered by Gmail.

To rebuild and recompile in CentOS, after you edit sendmail.mc you run /etc/mail/make followed by a service sendmail restart.

You could also setup a log server and not log locally

comment Ubuntu sendmail “Relaying denied. Ip name possibly forged” (in reply to rcpt to command)
It is exactly the rewrite that bugs me. Could it be that because subdomain.domain.com has two entries in /etc/hosts of which 127.0.0.1 is the first one, that it gets "overwritten" by localhost.localdomain somewhere in the process before the rule sets are applied?

But this does not explain why email gets rejected by the Relay_ok rule set (This is where the failure message gets generated)

Can you also provide us with the contents of /etc/hosts?

It would also help if the OP told us the exact domain name for which he is having problems.

comment NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): opendaemonsocket: daemon MTA-v4: cannot bind: Address already in use
For someone with little experience with mail systems, I tend to believe that postfix is easier to setup. Others will say exim. You still seem to be having problems with your sendmail installation too, so it is best that you remove sendmail too, reboot the machine and reinstall it before continuing wth your setup
