comment Elasticsearch as memcache replacement
Not exactly an answer to your question, but if you want to reduce your stack and your stack includes MySQL, why not use the memcached layer that comes with MySQL?

comment Weird Phusion+nginx spawning delay error
No, in /tmp/passenger-error-Z0k9GY.html the same error message is dumped. Keep in mind that I have not edited any configuration files or source code. I have copied them over. It is just that 1 in 4 or 5 forks fails.

comment Weird Phusion+nginx spawning delay error
If all goes well, logging is normal. If is does not spawn in time, what is logged is what I show. I have included a more complete log. The html file in /tmp contains the same information. Spawning is direct because we use postgres.

comment How to enforce post encoding in tomcat 7?
I ended up writing my own unconditional filter for that to no avail, because the application (for which I have no access to the source code) changes it back to latin1.

Accepting this as the correct answer because of the links that helped me debug the problem even further.

comment How to configure sendmail to send emails from multiple domain names
This problem happens because the script that you are using to register users and mail them back the acknowledgement is not setting the From: header correctly. You have to edit it so as to make sure that it is set correctly for each of the two sites (maybe even maintain two separate copies of it that differ in the domain name) or even search for another form registration script. Not really a sendmail question.

comment How do I configure sendmail to send mail via MX record and not to localhost?
I would go with option 5 and using a bestmx map to make it generic.

comment Sending mail from server to own domain, mail hosted in google apps and Windows Live [Solved]
The domains you want to use in LOCAL_RULE_0, need to be in $=w. The easiest way for this is to include them in /etc/mail/local-host-names and restart sendmail.

comment Memcached dont start on boot
This does not mean that the PATH from the command line is the same as the PATH when the machine boots. Make sure the execution path is the same.

comment Can I have nginx put stuff on memcached?
Thank you. I am hoping for someone who has expanded the module and have nginx do that in a more generic way. If none, I'll give it a shot.

comment sendmail.cf to read server name from another file?
Any operation that rebuilds a .db file via makemap does not require a sendmail restart (newaliases, virtusertable, mailertable, etc.)
